Our Lady of Sorrows is situated at the north end of the village on the Ashopton Road. It serves Bamford, but also a large part of the western Hope Valley.
It was built originally to serve the Irish navvies who came to work on the local reservoir dams n the early years of the 20th century. The church is favoured with a magnificent view out over the Hope Valley.
The parish priest is Father Martin Clayton.
On Sundays there is a 9.00a.m. Mass at Bamford, but there are other services during the week.
